The Opening Xbox Game Pass Games of 2026 Show Xbox Is Still Fighting.

Across the gaming landscape, commentators persist in tolling the funeral bells for the green team. The platform was lately surpassed in sales by a lesser-known competitor. Dedicated Xbox communities have started writing about PlayStation unprecedentedly. The past year represented complete chaos for the Xbox ecosystem. But if we're going solely off the titles headed to the service in 2026, it becomes clear that Xbox remains determined to draw people in with compelling titles on its premier subscription.

The Immediate Additions

The two games currently accessible at this moment, Brews & Bastards and Little Nightmares Enhanced Edition, aren't the showstoppers. Rather, it's what is coming to Game Pass in the coming weeks that's worth getting excited about.

Major Titles on the Horizon

Starting January 13th, the platform will add the underappreciated Star Wars Outlaws, an open-world game that refreshes the standard Ubisoft formula with a cosmic robbery tale. Another big get is Resident Evil Village with its iconic tall vampire, which our 2021 review called "an ideal blend of horror and action."

Intriguing Niche Additions

But even the smaller games coming to Game Pass soon are quite compelling. Lost In Random: The Eternal Die, a fantastic but under-the-radar dungeon crawler that is incredibly fun, becomes available next week — and you should try it whether or not you experienced the first Lost in Random game.

The British post-apocalyptic game from last year might get its hooks in you within just a quarter of an hour.

Atomfall, a game blending infiltration and resource management by the makers of Sniper Elite, is also a game to check out. Those with the top-tier subscription also have Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine – Master Crafted Edition to anticipate.

A Robust Selection of Games

Ultimately, this isn't a revolutionary update to Game Pass, nor are they first-party juggernauts that validate the subscription alone. Yet, this selection are rock solid. The lineup provides a solid mix of past releases that passed you by and fairly new titles that lacked the recognition they were due initially — which makes them perfect candidates to get a second chance on Game Pass.

Be prepared to say goodbye to The Grinch Christmas Adventures, though.
