Homages Flow for Rob and Michele Reiner as Medical Examiner's Findings Face a Security Hold.

Over a fortnight subsequent to the heartbreaking passing of esteemed filmmaker Rob Reiner and his wife, photographer Michele Reiner, friends and colleagues persist in remembering the couple.

‘Life is Pain Without You’: Cary Elwes Pays Tribute to His Director

Posting on social media, actor Cary Elwes, who starred in Reiner's beloved 1987 film *The Princess Bride*, mentioned he finally felt able to express about his profound loss.

"Enough time has passed that I can at last express my sorrow into words," posted Elwes, adding that his introductory moment with Reiner created an instant bond. "As we began sharing more moments together I knew this was someone I longed to have in my life."

The actor posted behind-the-scenes footage from the production, remarking that he doesn't recollect "a single day without joy".

"The movie is about love, loyalty and sacrifice. Principles that Rob cherished deeply. That is part of the many reasons he was the perfect person to direct it," Elwes wrote.

He also paid tribute Michele Reiner, noting: "To say that they were a incredible duo would be an oversimplification. My heart still aches every time I recall you." He concluded with a phrase from *The Princess Bride*: "Sure, death cannot stop true love but life is pain without you."

Martin Scorsese Reflects on a Fellow Artist

In a separate essay, revered director Martin Scorsese shared memories of Reiner, whom he initially encountered in the 1970s.

"Immediately, I loved hanging out with Rob. We had a innate rapport for each other. He was uproarious and sometimes sharply witty, but he was never the kind of guy who would dominate the room," Scorsese said.

Scorsese mentioned Reiner's cameo appearance in his 2013 film *The Wolf of Wall Street*, playing the father of the protagonist.

"His improvisation skills with the best. He was a virtuoso at comedy, he worked beautifully with the cast, and he understood the emotional dilemma of his character," Scorsese noted.

Judicial Actions: Autopsy Reports Restricted

Recently, a Los Angeles court official ruled to prevent the publication of the Reiners' post-mortem findings, at the request from the local authorities.

A legal directive put a security hold on the investigation to prohibit the public release of "related notes, documents, files or images" pertaining to the ongoing investigation.

The coroner's office had already determined their deaths were the consequence of foul play, with a official listing citing the cause as "wounds from an edged weapon".

Aftermath and Reactions

After the killings, public figures shared divergent reactions.

Ex-President Donald Trump posted on the matter, making divisive statements that were widely condemned by several commentators.

Podcaster Joe Rogan contributed his criticism to the those speaking out last week. Talking on his podcast, Rogan described the statements as "shocking" and implied they demonstrated a worrisome lack of empathy.

Rogan ended by proposing that an adviser should have acted when the impulse to comment on the passing was made.
