FC Barcelona to Host Inaugural Game at Partially Completed Camp Nou this Saturday
Barcelona have announced their first game will take place at the partially upgraded Camp Nou this Saturday. They will welcome the Basque side in domestic competition 30 months after they moved out to allow renovations to start.
“We’ve dreamed about the return. Now, it’s here. We’re back home. Back at Spotify Camp Nou.”
Attendance will be limited though over 45,000 attendees can be present based on approved permits. Once fully finished, the Camp Nou is due to hold almost 105,000 spectators, up from the previous 99,000. Officials confirmed recent additions comprise a new players’ tunnel and new dressing rooms.
Stadium Testing
Barcelona held an open training session at the Camp Nou earlier this month. Officials stated approval is being pursued from Uefa to play their next home Champions League game versus the German side on 9 December in the renovated venue. Previous fixtures took place in the temporary ground.
