Comedian and author David Walliams lost his contract with longtime publisher.

Best-selling young adult author and entertainer David Walliams has been dropped by his longtime publishing house, the company has said.

A representative for the company said: "After careful consideration, and following the appointment of its recently appointed chief executive, HarperCollins UK has chosen to cease publishing future works by David Walliams."

It has been reported that the conclusion was made after an review of claims about questionable actions involving women.

The publisher declined to specify the motivations for this action, stating: "It is not our policy to discuss confidential company decisions."

A Prolific Publishing History

Walliams stands as a most prolific writers for young readers, having sold in excess of 60 million copies globally in 55 languages.

The debut children's novel from Walliams, *The Boy in the Dress*, came out under HarperCollins fifteen years ago.

Several of his titles, including *Gangsta Granny* and *Billionaire Boy*, have found new life as small-screen adaptations.

To date, he has released more than 40 books in total, including a holiday title titled *Santa & Son*, which came out under HarperCollins this past October.

Television and Literature

His career breakthrough occurred on the TV sketch series *Little Britain* and has been honored with National Television Awards for his role as a panelist on *Britain's Got Talent*.

He was awarded an OBE in 2017 honoring his contributions to the charitable sector and arts community.

This move occurs subsequent to the naming of Kate Elton as HarperCollins UK's new chief executive in October.
