Rice's Prior Legal Issues
Rice was absent for the initial part of this NFL campaign following an league-mandated ban for his role in causing a multi-vehicle accident on a Texas roadway that left multiple people injured. He was given a month of incarceration and five years’ probation after entering a guilty plea to serious offenses.
On the field, he finished the year with 53 catches for 571 yards and five TDs as the Kansas City went 6-11 and failed to qualify for the postseason for the first time in a ten-year span.
