Beloved Performer The actor Pat Finn, Recognized For Appearances in Friends and The Middle, Dies at the Age of Sixty.
American entertainer Finn, who featured in iconic television series like Friends, Seinfeld and The Middle, has succumbed at 60 years old.
The skilled improv artist died at home in LA on Monday having undergone cancer treatment beginning in 2022, per news outlets.
"Pat never met a stranger - just potential friends he hadn't encountered," his relatives stated in a message.
They added that he had "embraced life completely - with joy and exuberance".
A Prolific TV Career
Finn's first television role was on the George Wendt Show in the mid-90s, where he portrayed the lead character's sibling.
He also had a regular part on Murphy Brown in the latter half of the 1990s.
He starred as a party host named Joe Mayo in the show Seinfeld in the late 90s, portraying a social organizer who would assign burdensome jobs to his guests.
In the 90s and 2000s, he had guest spots on numerous hit series, like:
- "King of Queens"
- Friends
- That '70s Show
- "House"
He was most recognized for portraying Bill Norwood in "The Middle", starring in eight seasons between 2011 and 2018.
His film credits include "It's Complicated" and Santa Paws 2: The Santa Pups (2012).
Beyond the Screen
Beyond his on-screen roles, Finn was an improv performer and served as an educator at the Colorado university, where he was a professor.
He was part of a comedy group of six known as "Beer Shark Mice".
"Pat guided, supported, and advised countless students throughout the years and you'd be hard-pressed to find a person anyplace who has anything negative to say about him," his loved ones expressed.
In a tribute, fellow actor Richard Kind remarked there was "not a more kind, gentle, or funny, grounded individual you could encounter".
"Perpetually optimistic, assisting others to improve and be funnier. An excellent dad and person," Kind wrote on social media.
Finn is leaves behind his wife Donna, three children, and his mother, father, and brothers/sisters.
